Deborah Lester is a self-taught artist with a passion for painting real places and things, but with a twist - she prefers a loose, non-realistic style. She enjoys working with big brushes and palette knives to bring her subjects to life.
Her artwork is quite diverse, ranging from beautiful landscapes of West Virginia to farms, flowers, pets, and even portraits and murals.

Lester has been painting since 1983 and has a special fondness for watercolor, although she also enjoys working with oil paints.
As an experienced artist, Lester has been teaching others how to paint for many years at the Beckley Art Center and Cedar Lakes in Ripley, West Virginia. She's has served as the president of the Beckley Art Center and the West Virginia Watercolor Society.
